We spent a long family weekend at the cabin last Saturday through Tuesday. Feeding the animals at the zoo, fishing, boating, swimming, ice cream (making & eating), s'mores.......
Friday night we went to Lexington to watch the fireworks display. It was a first for both Betty and Lowell. My little man was unmoved by the lights in the sky, even somewhat bored and eventually falling asleep. My little lady was less than thrilled by the loud bangs and smacks. She did eventually agree to look at the lights while covering her ears and was excited towards the end of the show (until the finale that is). Saturday we headed back to Lexington again this time it was for the parade; that was a hit with both of them. Great kids, great weekend.
Lowell's first tooth has broken the surface of his gums, as you can see he's proudly showing off his pearly white, almost.
Betty could hardly keep her feet on the ground as we headed to the check-out at Lowes a few weeks ago - we had a new slide in the cart. She was squealing and giggling in the car all the way back to Brown City. Joe put a few hours in every couple of nights and now it's finally complete (for this summer anyway, we plan to put an addition on next summer). Hopefully it will provide Betty and Lowell hours of entertainment in the years to come. Betty has already spent plenty of quality time with it so far in addition to telling everyone she meets that she "has a new slide!"
