Holy Cow

Between 5-6 Sunday morning we kept hearing the sound MOO. My thoughts were - strange, I've never heard the neighbor's cows mooing from our house, must be the wind is blowing in a different direction today. Joe, still sleeping was having flashback dreams of the time still living in Mason when a neighbor's cows got in the yard and chewed up the pine trees. When I finally decided to look out the bedroom window just after 6, holy cow is all I could say. We had our own private cattle drive going on in our courtyard. At least 15 or so beef cattle were shuffling along across the yard! A neighbor from the next road over to the north of us apparently had a prison break. He was chasing and apologizing profusely! He managed to herd them back to the garden (where they happily munched away at our "crops") while he ran home to get some feed. They all followed the sound of the feed bucket, mooed back in the direction of their farm and our cow adventure was over. Who said living in the country was boring?
